I built FlavaJazz because the algorithm wasn't going to do it for us.

Hey, I'm Darrell "D-Funk" Looney — working musician, founder of FlavaJazz. Streaming services bury jazz in the same five mood playlists every week. Independent artists keep dropping incredible work, and most of it never finds the people who'd actually love it.

So I built a record-store rolodex. You flip through covers like you're crate-digging, you read the story, you find the next thing for your rotation. Each week I send a short email with what's new. No bots, no algorithm — just a working musician pointing other working musicians at the people who'd love their stuff.
